Felipe KurY

Felipe Kury has over 20 years of experience in business/corporate development and venture capital working for global companies such as Softbank, IBM and Microsoft. He has dedicated most of his career to hands-on investing requiring extensive interaction with managers at portfolio companies, building value-enhancing growth strategies and operating plans. He has held several operating positions in general management roles, overseen strategic initiatives, turnarounds and restructuring of operations across the globe.

Mr. Kury spent five years developing worldwide strategies and growth plans for a $15B+ product division in Microsoft, leading investment initiatives in Asia Pacific, Japan and Emerging Markets.

Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Kury worked for Softbank, LLC leading investments for a $150M Venture Capital Fund with focus in Technology, Media and Telecom (TMT). He evaluated markets attractiveness, competitive landscape, growth prospects and value creation potential, which led to selection target companies and investment decisions. He also led the end-to-end investment process, including valuation analysis, deal structure, negotiations and monitoring of portfolio companies as a board member.

Mr. Kury worked for several years for IBM Corporation where he held operating positions in sales, marketing and operations, with focus in Financial Services and Public Sector industries. The last few years in IBM, he was the head of corporate development group for IBM Latin America ($ 4B+ operation) executing investments, M&A and strategic alliances.

Mr. Kury holds a B.Sc. in Electrical-Electronic Engineering with distinction in Micro-Electronics from Pontific Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro. He also holds an MBA in Finance and Economics from the Brazilian Institute of Economics and Capitals Markets (IBMEC) and is a graduate of General Management from Harvard Business School.
