William Atkins

William Atkins combines broad experience and deep expertise in investment banking with several years of operating experience.

Mr. Atkins was most recently CFO of Rivada Networks, a provider of mobile communications services to first responders in the US. As the CFO of an early stage, high growth company, Mr. Atkins was involved in a wide variety of functions - including establishing financial planning and control functions, upgrading financial reporting and project management systems, negotiations with joint venture partners and capital raising.

Prior to Rivada, Mr. Atkins was CFO of Intelsat, the global satellite operator, where he led the operational and strategic restructuring of the company prior to its $5.1 billion sale to a consortium of private equity firms. During Mr. Atkins' tenure, Intelsat carried out a number of acquisitions and disposals, implemented new management reporting systems, upgraded operational and financial planning tools, enhanced financial controls, rationalized capital expenditures and restructured its balance sheet to enhance shareholder value.

Before joining Intelsat, Mr. Atkins worked at Morgan Stanley in London for nearly a decade where he rose to be senior member of the firm’s Investment Banking Division and held various positions, including Head of European Corporate Finance Execution, Deputy Head of Investment Banking in Japan, and Head of European Telecommunications Corporate Finance. Prior to Morgan Stanley Mr. Atkins was an investment banker at S.G. Warburg for nine years working at that firm’s London and Tokyo offices.
